Agatha Christie – A Pocket Full Of Rye – First UK Edition 1953
£385.00
A first edition, first printing of ‘A Pocket Full of Rye’ published by Collins in 1953. A very good book without inscriptions. In a clipped wrapper which has minimal chipping to the spine ends and to the corners. The spine is a little faded – with a repaired tear to the bottom of the spine and one or two nicks. A very nice copy indeed.
A Pocket Full of Rye by Agatha Christie is a classic Miss Marple mystery. The story revolves around the murder of wealthy businessman Rex Fortescue, who is found dead with rye in his pocket. As more family members fall victim, Miss Marple uncovers connections to a nursery rhyme. Set in a 1950’s English country house, Christie’s intricate plot, red herrings and sharp characterisation make for a compelling and clever whodunit.
