A first edition, first printing of ‘The English Patient’ by Michael Ondaatje, published by Bloomsbury in 1992. A very good book with slight bumping to the head and base of the spine and some spotting to the text block. Clean internally. In a very good, unclipped wrapper with soiling and wear and light chipping to the edges/corners. Small address label to the front endpaper – Comes with a written postcard from Michael Ondaatje to a Mrs Betty Loch. Ondaatje has quite weird handwriting so it’s difficult to make out the gist to be honest, but a nice ephemeral item.
Winner of the 1992 Booker Prize, the 1992 Governor General’s Award, and the 2018 Golden Man Booker.
