First edition, first printing of The Children of Húrin by J.R.R. Tolkien, edited by Christopher Tolkien, published by Harper Collins in London, 2007, with colour illustrations throughout by Alan Lee. This is a near fine copy free from internal inscriptions, initial pages of first chapter bound upside down,boards bound in publishers original blue cloth with gilt titling to the spine, slight bumping to spine tips, the text block with some spotting to the top edge. The near fine unclipped dust wrapper with bumping to spine tips and knuckles of front and rear flap folds.
An epic fantasy novel which forms the completion of a tale by J. R. R. Tolkien. He wrote the original version of the story in the late 1910s, revised it several times later, but did not complete it before his death in 1973.
