Description
A first edition, first printing of It by Stephen King, published by Hodder and Stoughton, London in 1986. A very good book without inscriptions. Boards bound in black cloth with gilt titling to the spine, some browning and rubbing to the board edges – small blemish to the prelims and a little corner rippling. In a very good clipped wrapper, minor browning to the spine and slight pushing to spine tips.
It by Stephen King is a horror novel centred on a group of friends, the “Losers’ Club”, who confront a malevolent entity in their small town of Derry, Maine. The entity, often taking the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, awakens every 27 years to feed on children’s fears. The novel explores themes of trauma, friendship and the battle between good and evil, blending supernatural horror with deeply human experiences.
