John Lennon – A Spaniard In The Works – First UK Edition 1965
£85.00
First edition, first printing. Published by Jonathan Cape in London, 1965. This is a very good copy. Issued without the dust wrapper, the pictorial paper-covered boards are slightly worn at the corners and spine tips, with some lifting to the laminate on the front and rear hinges. No inscriptions. The text blocks show spotting to the top edge. Overall, this is a very good copy.
The book consists of nonsensical stories and drawings similar to the style of his previous book, 1964’s In His Own Write. The name is a pun on the expression “a spanner in the works”.
