Truman Capote – In Cold Blood – First UK Edition 1966
£225.00
First edition, first printing. Published by Hamish Hamilton, London, in 1966. This is a very good (or better) copy. The strikingly plain, titular dust wrapper is clean with some slight spots of browning on the front and rear panels. There is slight wear at the top and tail edges and it has been neatly price clipped. The boards suffer from a slight bump to the bottom edge. There is a ‘Orange Door, Eastwood’ stamp on the front fly leaf, which aside from this, is bright and clean. The internals are clean throughout, but the text blocks suffer from slight toning to the top edge and very sparse foxing to the bottom and side. This copy is free from previous owners ink, aside from the aforementioned ink stamp and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition.
A non-fiction novel, detailing the 1959 murders of four members of the Clutter family in the small farming community of Holcomb, Kansas.
