This is a first edition, first printing copy ofœA Diary of The XVIIIth Olympiad, Tokyo 1964, by Christopher Brasher, published by Stanley Paul in 1964 with its unclipped dust wrapper. The book itself is unremarkable, however, it is signed by the author, himself the winner of the 3000 metres steeplechase Gold Medal at the 1956 Melbourne Games. It is also signed by Harold Maurice Abrahams, the winner of the 100 metres Gold Medal at the 1924 Paris Games, immortalised in the filmœChariots of Fire; and by Roger Gilbert Bannister who did not win an Olympic medal but won the 800 metres Bronze Medal at the 1950 European Championships in Brussels, the 1500 metres Gold Medal at the 1954 European Championships in Bern, the 1 Mile Gold Medal at the 1954 Empire Games in Vancouver and of course broke the 4-minute mile. The book has no other inscriptions or marks other than the autographs mentioned and has no tears or foxing. The jacket has suffered a bit with some tears to the top of the front cover as can be seen in the scan and light rubbing at the edges. A superb association copy. Signed by Authors.
