£375.00

A first edition of the Odhams Press Edition 1937. A very good book without inscriptions with some spotting to the endpapers and edges and rubbing to the edges. In the near fine, complete dust wrapper with one small nick to the head of the dust wrapper – with 7’6 to the spine. With C1137 to the copyright page. Published the same month as the very scarce Collins edition.
Published in 1937 and features Hercule Poirot in four linked detective stories. The title story begins after a woman is found dead in a locked room on Bonfire Night, apparently by suicide. Poirot soon suspects murder and uncovers a carefully staged crime. The collection shows Christie’s skill with compact plotting, misdirection, and psychology, offering neat, elegant mysteries with Poirot’s trademark logic and attention to small details.
