First edition, first printing of ‘Bomber Command’. Published by Michael Joseph in London, 1979. This is a very good copy with a little wear to the edges and corners. SIGNED beneath the author’s name, followed by ‘For Charles whose support is doing so much to launch this book as if he [sic] also done so much to launch me – Yours ever, Max, September 1979. The dust wrapper, illustrated by Andrew Wheatcroft is very good and has wear to the corners and a little creasing and is faded to the spine. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are in very good condition. Overall, this is a very good copy.
Charles is also the dedicatee of the book – possibly Charles Portal but unconfirmed.
