Ted Hughes – What Is The Truth? – First Edition 1984 – With handwritten letter
£175.00
A first edition, first printing of ‘What Is The Truth?’ published by Faber in 1984. A near fine book in like lightly edge worn dust wrapper. In the accompanying letter, handwritten by Hughes reads; ‘Dear Adam Clapham. The programme you suggest sounds very interesting. I shall look forward to it. But I would prefer not to take part, though I do thank you for the invitation. Had you thought of asking Peter Redgrave? In all your list he’s the closest thing to a theologian – not orthodox perhaps but learned, and articulate. Yours sincerely Ted Hughes.’
Clapham, a BBC executive producer and Peter William Redgrove a British poet.
