A first edition, first printing ‘The Creature From The Black Lagoon’ published by Dragon Publications Limited, [Luton, Beds.], 1954. In publisher’s blue boards with pictorial dust jacket. A very good book with some light spotting to the page edges. Some light fading to the spine tips. No inscriptions – Printer’s errata to the side of the first few pages as unopened and now a little damage to the outermost edges – some thin creasing to the last two pages – some off-setting to the endpapers. In the near fine superb dust wrapper – with only minimal wear to the spine tips and corners. The best example and most complete dust wrapper we have ever encountered as most look like they have been in the Black Lagoon itself…
The novelisation was written by John Russell Fearn, using his pseudonym Vargo Statten. The UK first edition was published by Dragon Books in 1954. It is the original British film tie-in novelisation of ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’ and is now notably scarce.
