A first edition of book originally published in the US in 1965. Octavo, pp 304. Bound in cloth covered hard boards and in the original dust jacket, unclipped (21s net). Donn Pearce’s debut novel about a Florida Road-Gang, Cool Hand Luke is best known for the 1967 film adaptation starring Paul Newman, for which Pearce received a nomination for Best Screenplay. A very good condition book, marred only by spotting on the top and leading edges of the page block. The dust wrapper is very good, with wear along the top edge and loss to the head of the spine. A rather uncommon UK first edition.
