Description
An attractive autograph inscription in Potter’s hand, reading “from Beatrix Potter, Dec. 21.36.”, written boldly in ink on a small album leaf. Dating from the later years of Potter’s life, when she was living in the Lake District as Mrs William Heelis.
Mounted alongside a black-and-white portrait photograph of Potter and a black engraved name plaque, “Beatrix Potter 1866–1943,” and attractively presented in a solid walnut frame with cream mount.
A particularly appealing display piece, the inscription being considerably more desirable than a simple clipped signature by virtue of the full “from Beatrix Potter” wording and precise contemporary date.
Condition: autograph clear and strong; light expected toning to the signed leaf. Handsomely framed and ready to display.
