Emlyn Williams (1905–1987) was a Welsh playwright, actor and novelist. He gained fame for plays such as Night Must Fall and The Corn Is Green. Williams was also celebrated for his solo stage performances portraying Charles Dickens, bringing Victorian literature to modern audiences. Beyond theatre, he appeared in films and wrote autobiographical works. His career spanned stage, screen and literature, making him one of Wales’s most versatile twentieth-century cultural figures.
