A signed first edition, first printing published by W H Allen in 1959. A very good book without inscriptions with some browning to the spine. Some light wear to the very good or better unclipped wrapper to the spine tips and corners. With a little light browning to the bottom edge of the rear panel. Accompanied by a hand written letter from Sillitoe thanking the book seller for the catalogue he has been given – the letter came from a scrap book and has some paper adhesive to the rear.
The story was adapted for a 1962 film, directed by Tony Richardson, starring Tom Courtenay and Julia Foster.
