First edition, first printing. Published by Cassell in London, 1945. This is a near fine copy – two small tape burns to the front free endpaper. The dust wrapper has some creasing to the top edge. The spine tips and corners are pushed throughout. There are handling marks to the rear panel. It has not been price clipped, showing 12s 6d. The boards are mostly free from notable chips and marks. Complete with five half-tone plates. The text blocks are bright. This copy has one neat previous owner’s name to the front pastedown and is, overall, in near fine condition.
