£275.00

First edition, first printing. Published by Blond & Briggs in London, 1971. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper has some mild rubbing at the spine tips and some closed tears at the corners. It has not been price clipped, showing the original £2.25 net price. The boards are slightly bumped at the spine tips and at the corners. The text blocks are bright and white throughout. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in very good (or better) copy.

While studying at Georgetown University in 1949, Blatty became intrigued by a real life demonic possession and exorcism which he had heard about. This provided the inspiration for his horror novel which was made into a very successful film adaptation two years later.
