W.H. Auden – Collected Shorter Poems 1930-1944 – First Edition 1950
£95.00
First edition, first printing of Collected Shorter Poems 1930-1944 by WH Auden, published by Faber & Faber, London in 1950. A very good book, a previous owner’s name stamp to the front paste down, boards bound in original publisher’s blue cloth with gilt titling to the spine, some fading to the spine, with bumping to the spine tips, toning to the text block and spotting to the top edge. In a very good unclipped wrapper with chipping to the spine tips and knuckles of the front and rear flap folds, an open tear to the lower edge of front panel and rear upper knuckle, a small hole at the front spine hinge, fading to the spine. With three newspaper images of Auden. Contains ‘Stop The Clocks’ made famous by some film with Hugh Grant.
