W.E. Johns – Biggles and the Black Raider – First UK Edition 1953
£85.00
First edition, first printing of ‘Biggles and the Black Raider’ by W. E. Johns, published by Hodder & Stoughton in London, 1953. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper, as designed by Leslie Stead, has some tearing to the spine tips and at the top of the front panel. There is slight creasing at the edges and a small scuff mark on the front. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 7/6 net price. The boards are free from wear and the text blocks are crisp and free from foxing. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition
An urgent assignment in Central Africa where they lead the search for the elusive black elephant.
(We don't keep all of our stock in the shop, so send us an email if you're planning a trip to see a particular author or book.)
