Ted Hughes – Football – Double SIGNED Broadside – Framed with Compartment for Limited Edition Book
£600.00
Alton: Clarion Publishing / Prospero Poets, 1995. First UK edition, first printing.
A fold-out poem by Ted Hughes, with illustrations by Christopher Battye. One of 60 numbered copies, from a total edition of 199, signed by both Hughes and Battye; this copy No. 60 – the last from this particular run.
With the separately issued broadside — reproducing the full text of the poem and two of Battye’s illustrations. This additional print is also signed by Hughes and Battye, and was issued only with copies numbered 1–59 – now framed beautifully with a hidden compartment behind in which the limited edition book is held in a slipcase.
A particularly appealing Hughes item: a late poem, characteristically forceful, personal, and unsentimental, here paired with Battye’s vivid, comic illustrations. Scarce complete with the separately signed print.
