Each with its original dust jacket. ‘The Eagle of the Ninth’: A first edition, first printing published by Oxford University Press in 1954. A very good book with boards full of colour. Some tape burns to the endpapers. No inscriptions. The very good unclipped wrapper has been internally repair where the hinges have split, but now presents as a lovely example with some light wear to the spine tips and corners. ‘The Silver Branch’: A first edition, first printing published by Oxford University Press in 1957. A near fine book with a neat inscription to the front endpaper. A very nice example of the book with square corners. In a near fine unclipped wrapper which has a couple of light tape repairs to the spine tips internally. ‘The Lantern Bearers’: A first edition, first printing published by Oxford University Press in 1959. Publisher’s original purple boards with silver titles to the spine. Original unclipped dust jacket showing the original price of 12s 6d net. A very good book (a little bowed) with a name and date to the front endpaper. The unclipped dust jacket is in very good condition with a little loss at the spine tips and one chip to the head of the front panel. Some nicking and a neat internal repair to the foot of the spine. A lovely copy of the author’s Carnegie Medal winning novel.
