£600.00

A first edition, first printing of The BFG by Roald Dahl, published by Cape in 1982. A near fine copy free from internal inscriptions, the boards bound in publisher’s original grey cloth with gilt titling to the spine, some pushing to the head and foot of the spine, pushing to the upper corners, minor bumping to upper edge of rear panel, the text blocks slightly toned. The unclipped wrapper with chipping to spine tips and knuckles of front and rear flap folds.

It is an expansion of a short story from Dahl’s 1975 book Danny, the Champion of the World. The book is dedicated to Dahl’s late daughter, Olivia, who died of measles encephalitis at the age of seven in 1962.
