Description
A first paperback edition, first printing of Matilda by Roald Dahl, published by Puffin, London in 1989, illustrated throughout by Quentin Blake. A near fine book free from internal inscriptions, some wear to the edges, fading to the spine and minor bumping to spine tips, with slight toning to the pages and text block.
Matilda by Roald Dahl is the story of a brilliant young girl with neglectful, cruel parents. Matilda discovers she has telekinetic powers and uses them to outwit her family and the tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, at her school. With the support of her kind teacher, Miss Honey, Matilda learns to embrace her talents. The novel blends humour, magic and empowerment, as Matilda ultimately finds happiness and justice despite the challenges she faces.
