A first edition, first printing of William the Space Animal by Richmal Crompton, published by Newnes in 1956. An good book in original publisher’s green cloth boards with gilt title to the front board and similarly with illustration to the spine, fading to the spine, the text blocks browning and spotted, the front paste down and front free end paper with remnants of adhesive, damp-staining to the hinge of front and rear paste-downs. The good unclipped wrapper with some fading to the spine, bumping and chips to the upper and lower edge of front and rear panel, chipping to the spine tips and open tears to knuckles of the front and rear flap folds, internally spotting and browning with some minor damp-staining.
