First edition, first printing of ‘Silent Spring’ by Rachel Carson. Published by Hamish Hamilton in London, 1963. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper has not been price clipped. It is only marginally sunned at the spine, which is unusual with this title. There is a stamp of the Harrison Zoological Museum, Kent to the front endpaper. The boards have a slight lean and very light bumping at the corners. The text blocks are clean throughout. Included is a bookmark from The Soil Association which contains a quote from Carson. Overall, this is a near fine copy.

This book documented the environmental harm caused by the indiscriminate use of pesticides.
