First book club edition of ‘A Year in Provence’, published by BCA in London, 1991. This is a near fine copy. Illustrated by Leslie Forbes, there is no notable wear aside from some creasing to the tail of the spine- it has not been price clipped. The navy cloth boards are without wear. This copy is free from previous owners ink. Overall, this is a near fine copy of a scarce title and a good alternative to the mega rare first edition.
A best-selling memoir by Peter Mayle about his first year in Provence, and the local events and customs. It was adapted into a television series starring John Thaw and Lindsay Duncan. Reviewers praised the book’s honest style, wit and its refreshing humour.
