Paul Brickhill – Reach For The Sky – First UK Edition 1954
£125.00
First edition, first printing of Reach For The Sky by Paul Brickhill, published by Collins in London, 1954, photographically illustrated throughout. This is a near fine copy with internals free from inscriptions, bound in publisher’s original blue cloth boards, with gilt titling to the spine, slight tarnish to the gilding, pushing to top corner of front panel, the text block with mild browning to the top edge. The near fine unclipped wrapper with very slight bumping to the spine tips and mild rubbing to rear panel.
Reach for the Sky by Paul Brickhill is the inspiring biography of Douglas Bader, a British fighter pilot who overcame the loss of both legs to become a World War II flying ace. The book chronicles Bader’s early life, his determination to return to flying and his heroic exploits in the Royal Air Force. Bader’s courage, resilience and indomitable spirit make his story a powerful testament to human endurance and the triumph over adversity.
