Olga Tokarczuk – Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead – First Edition 2018

A first UK edition, first printing of Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk, published by Fitzcarraldo Editions, London in 2018, translated by Antonia LLoyd-Jones. A near fine copy free from inscriptions, some rubbing to the corners and extremities of the soft cover, the text block bright and crisp.

First published in Polish in 2009, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead is Olga Tokarczuk’s darkly comic literary mystery. In a remote Polish village, eccentric former teacher Janina Duszejko investigates the deaths of hunters, believing that animals may be exacting revenge. Steeped in astrology, William Blake and the wintry landscape, the novel explores animal rights, justice, marginalisation and human hypocrisy. Antonia Lloyd-Jones’s English translation was shortlisted for the 2019 International Booker Prize.
