Len Deighton – The Ipcress File – First Edition 1962

First edition, first printing published by Hodder & Stoughton in London in 1962. A very good book in the original orange boards with bright gilt lettering to the spine. A neat owner’s name and date to the front endpaper. Some light pushing to the spine tips, with a little toning and light spotting to the top edge. In the very good unclipped dust wrapper, retaining the original price of 15/- net. Some light surface marking and edge wear, with rubbing and small areas of loss to the head of the spine. The distinctive Raymond Hawkey design presents well.

Deighton’s landmark debut, bringing a sardonic new voice to British espionage fiction and filmed in 1965 with Michael Caine as Harry Palmer.
