First edition, first printing. Published by Michael Joseph in London, 1978. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper, with pictorial illustrations of a rather apt office block are with some slight wear to the corners. There are surface scratches and handling marks to the rear panel, with some slight creasing to the top and tail edges. It has not been price clipped, showing the original £4.95 net price. The boards are without notable wear and the text blocks are mostly bright and clean, with some slight toning present. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in near fine condition.
About a man with no real ambition joining a firm, who are all busy doing nothing, the telephones never ring, the workers come in each day sit at their desks and do nothing.
They take their tea breaks and return to sit and do nothing satire at its wicked best.
