First edition, first printing of The Grail Tree by Jonathan Gash, published by Collins Crime Club in London, 1979. This is a very good copy, the original red boards are free from notable wear, with slight bumping to the head and foot of the spine, the text blocks are slightly foxed throughout with browning to the top edge, internals free from inscriptions. The very good price clipped wrapper with minor browning to the rear panel and front and rear flaps. Jacket design by Yvonne Skargon and Colin Thomas.
The Grail Tree by Jonathan Gash follows Lovejoy, a roguish antique dealer with a knack for spotting genuine treasures. In this third instalment of the series, Lovejoy is drawn into a dangerous quest involving the legendary Holy Grail. As he navigates deception, forgery and murder, Lovejoy’s wits and expertise are tested. The novel blends mystery, suspense and dark humour, offering a vivid portrayal of the antique trade’s underworld and Lovejoy’s unconventional sleuthing.
