A first edition, first printing published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1953. A very good book with some fading to the spine. A presentation inscription to Joan Prudham from the Standing Conference of Natural Voluntary Youth Organisations and the National Council of Social Services dated December 1953 to the front pastedown. SIGNED and INSCRIBED beautifully by the Author on the half-title page ‘To Joan [Prudham]/To thank you for helping/lay the foundations on which /the spirit of this story may/be spread to young people/throughout this country/John Hunt/19th March 1956. In the supplied very good unclipped wrapper with some wear to the spine tips and corners.  Hunt was not known for his lengthy inscriptions. His admiration for Prudham community and youth work is evident in the inscription and this is a lovely association.
