A first edition, first printing published by Methuen in 1967. A fine book without inscriptions, in a near fine lightly rubbed wrapper. With the rare wrap around band advertising the Evening Standard Drama Award. Orton was one of the UK’s most loved and promising playwrights. He was murdered by his jealous lover Kenneth Halliwell in August 1967. Given that the book was published in February of that year, the signature is exceptionally scarce.
