‘Before They Are Hanged’ by Joe Abercrombie is the second book in *The First Law* trilogy, blending dark fantasy with sharp wit. It follows several characters on brutal journeys: Logen Ninefingers and his group seek a mythical weapon, Inquisitor Glokta defends a besieged city, and Jezal dan Luthar faces unexpected growth. The novel deepens the series’ moral complexity, delivering intense action, dark humour, and rich character development in Abercrombie’s signature grimdark style.
