A first edition, first printing published by Collins in 1967. A near fine book without inscriptions with a trace of spotting to the top edge and some off-setting to the endpapers. In a very good/near fine unclipped wrapper some creasing and a little loss to the top of the spine and corners. A rare book with illustrated wrapper by Peggy Fortnum (she of Paddington fame). Shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal in 1967 and latterly made into a Japanese Anime film.
