First edition, first printing. Published by Michael Joseph in London, 1977. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper, finely illustrated by Larry, has been neatly price clipped and has only slight rubbing to the edges. The boards are slightly faded at the spine, but the gilt titling is bright and clean. The authors signature is present on the full title page in black ink, inscribed ‘Best Wishes, James Herriot’. The text blocks are bright and white, however the top edge is toned and darkened. There is slight rippling to the front few internal pages. Overall, this is a very near fine copy.
