A first edition, first printing of the uncorrected proof copy of If Only They Could Talk by James Herriot, published by Michael Joseph, London in 1970. A very good book without inscriptions, the spine heavily creased, the front and rear boards with light spotting and showing signs of handing wear, bumping to corners of the the front board and toning to the top edge of the text block with heavy spotting.
