A first edition, first printing of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service by Ian Fleming, published by Cape in London, 1963. A very good book with handling wear to front and rear boards and wear to the spine head and tail. Some toning and foxing to text block two small digit inscriptions to the prelims. In a very good unclipped wrapper with a browning and a little staining to the spine, browning to rear panel and chipping to the spine tips and knuckles of front and rear flap folds. Wrapper design by Richard Chopping.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, published by Cape in 1963, is the eleventh novel in Ian Fleming’s James Bond series. In it, Bond faces off against the criminal mastermind Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who plans to use biological warfare to extort the world. Bond is also deeply affected by his romance with Tracy di Vicenzo, a woman with a troubled past. The novel explores themes of loyalty, love and revenge, while continuing Bond’s high-stakes espionage adventures.
