Graham Greene – Travels With My Aunt – First Australian Edition 1969
£75.00
First Australian edition, first printing. Published by The Bodley Head in Sydney, 1969. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper is beautifully illustrated by Stephen Russ. It is foxed and with mild handling marks throughout. There are mild closed tears to both edges, notably the head of the spine too. It has not been price clipped and shows the original $4.25 price. The boards are free from chips and marks, with light marking at the bottom edge. The text blocks are markedly clean, though lightly toned. There is a previous owner’s ink stamp to the front fly. Overall, this is a very good copy.
The novel follows the travels of Henry Pulling, a retired bank manager, and his eccentric Aunt Augusta as they find their way across Europe, and eventually even further afield.
