Graham Greene – A Sort Of Life [with] Ways Of Escape – First Editions
£125.00
First edition, first printing. The first volume of Greene’s autobiography, ‘A Sort of Life’ is published by The Bodley Head in London, 1971. This is a very (very) near fine copy. The Michael Harvey dust wrapper, plainly designed with yellow titling and a purple background, has some very light spots to the front panel. There is also some light shelf wear to the top and tail edges. It has not been price clipped, showing the original £1.80 net price. The boards, bound in a tight-weave green cloth, are without notable wear. The text blocks are bright and white throughout and the internals free from inscriptions. This is an exemplary copy.
First edition, second printing. This second volume Published by The Bodley Head in London, 1980. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper is so slightly rippled at the top edge and carries some slight surface scratching. The spine is slightly sunned. There is a mild crease to the front flap. It has been price clipped. The boards are clean and free from notable wear. The text blocks are bright and white throughout. Overall, this is a fine copy.
The first and second volumes of Greene’s autobiography. A fine pairing.
