Tel No. 8388 Chancery. 7, Gray’s Inn Square, London W.C.1′ – with signature in black ink, a central horizontal fold and two vertical folds, two areas of adhesive residue to verso.
In full: ‚’Dear Sir: In reply to your letter of yesterday’s date, I have pleasure in sending my autograph herewith. Yours faithfully, Giles Gilbert Scott.’
Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (1880‚Äì1960) was a leading English architect, best known for designing Liverpool Cathedral, Battersea Power Station, Bankside Power Station and the iconic red K2 telephone box. Born into a family of architects, he blended Gothic tradition with modern industrial design. His work often used brick, strong vertical lines and monumental scale. Scott was knighted in 1924 and became one of Britain’s most distinctive twentieth-century architectural figures.
