A first edition, first printing published by Rupert Hart-Davis in 1954. A very good book with patches of fading to the spine tips. No inscriptions. Signed, dated (in the year of publication) and Durrell has also drawn a picture of an owl on the front endpaper. In the near fine supplied dust wrapper which has some rubbing to the edges and corners and a little light handling marks to the rear panel. Rare signed and illustrated in this way and the Author’s third book.
