A first edition, first printing of Five on a Secret Trail by Enid Blyton, published by Hodder & Stoughton, London in 1956. A near fine book, internals free from inscriptions, with pushing to base of the spine, slight staining to the edge of the front panel, browning and mild spotting to the text block, ghosting to the front and rear free end papers. In a like unclipped wrapper with slight rubbing to the spine tips and a couple of nicks to the edges, an open tear to the foot of the spine, browning to the front and rear panels and fading to the spine, some internal damp-staining.
The 15th novel in The Famous Five series sees George going camping with her dog, Timmy, and tells the tale of the children they meet along the way.
