A first edition, first printing published by Poetry London Editions in 1945. A very good book with some light off-setting to the front board. SIGNED and INSCRIBED to the front endpaper ‘Elizabeth Smart gives this free to R. Bothall without strings sometime in July 1952’. Smart has also corrected two words on page 1 of the text. In the very good supplied wrapper which is unclipped and has two small chips to the top edge and some rubbing to the spine and edges. In a custom-made slip case. A highlight of Canadian literature and with a wonderfully warm and personal inscription.
