£600.00

A first edition, first printing published by Blackwell, Oxford in 1915. A very good book/pamphlet. One of 500 copies printed. Of the 500 copies, around 200 are believed to have been pulped by the printers in the 1920s. ‘Drowned Suns’ and ‘Serenade’ were first published in The Daily Mirror, priced 6d. The book contains five poems, including the title poem, ‘The Mother’. Some wear to the edges and a small hole to the rear panel. Comes with a typed letter whose author suggests that, having contacted Edith Sitwell’s secretary, Mrs Salter, the book would be worth ‘between £12 and £20’. It has gone up since then….
