£75.00
A first edition, first printing of Dark Calypso by Dulcie Gray, published by Macdonald and Jane’s, London in 1979. A near fine book, signed and inscribed by the author in black ink to the front free end paper, inscribed by a previous owner and author’s dedicatee in pink ink to the front paste-down, with bumping to the head of the spine, light shelf wear to the lower edge of front board, the text blocks bright and crisp. The near fine unclipped wrapper with light handling wear and some bumping to the head of the spine. Wrapper design by Anne Davison.
Dark Calypso by Dulcie Gray is a psychological mystery set in the Caribbean. The novel follows the story of a British woman, Anne, who relocates to an island to escape her troubled past. However, she soon becomes entangled in a web of deceit, danger and dark secrets. As Anne uncovers the island’s mysterious undercurrents, the tension builds, leading to a chilling climax. The novel explores themes of isolation, suspense and human vulnerability.
