The dust wrapper, designed by Frederick Lambert, has some light separation at the corners and spine tips, with other slight surface marks also present. The text blocks are bright and clean, aside from an area of foxing at the top edge. The boards are free from notable chips and marks. There is one small previous owners inscription to the front fly, dated to the year of publication. Overall, this is a very good (or better) copy.
The author’s second novel. It is considered one of the author’s lesser works, though it deals with many of the same themes that appear in later novels that won her international recognition and several prestigious awards in India and abroad.
