Agatha Christie – They Do It With Mirrors – First UK Edition 1952
£250.00
First edition, first printing. Published by Collins in London, 1952. A very good copy. The dust wrapper has not been price clipped, displaying the original 10s, 6d. A little loss to the head of the spine. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are bright and white, spotting to the page edges – some off-setting to the endpapers. One neat gift inscription to the front pastedown but exceptionally clean within the book. Overall, this is a very good copy.
One review at the time of publication praised the essence of the plot but felt the latter half of the novel moved too slowly.[4] A later review considered that this novel showed “Definite signs of decline”[5] and felt the author was not entirely comfortable with the setting she described in the novel.
