A first edition, first printing published by Collins in 1954. A near fine book with a neat inscription to the front free endpaper. Some slight bumping to the head and base of the spine. Some browning internally. In a good unclipped wrapper showing wear and chipping to the head/base of the spine, edges and corners. One open tear along the bottom of the spine with a tape repair. Three further small tape repairs to chipping on the edges.
Christie based this book partly on the activities of two famous physicists of the early 1950s: Bruno Ponecorvo, who defected to Russia, and Emil Fuchs, who spied for the Russians. It is another of Christie’s light-hearted thriller novels featuring a daring and fearless heroine.
