First edition, first printing of By The Pricking of My Thumbs by Agatha Christie, published by Collins Crime Club in London, 1968. This is a very good copy free from internal inscriptions, the green cloth boards with gilt titles to the spine are without notable chips and marks, slight fading and bumping to the head and foot of the spine, some minor spotting to the text blocks and browning to the top edge. The unclipped wrapper with some bumping to the upper and lower edge, fading to the spine and with small internal damp stain, with minor browning to rear panel and front and rear flaps. The wrapper designed by Kenneth Farnhill.

By the Pricking of My Thumbs by Agatha Christie is a mystery novel featuring detectives Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. The story begins when Tuppence visits an elderly aunt in a nursing home and encounters a mysterious woman who speaks of a child behind a fireplace. This leads the duo into a web of dark secrets, disappearances and murder. The novel blends suspense and intrigue, showcasing Christie’s ability to craft a compelling, unpredictable mystery.

The title of the book comes from Act 4, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, when the second witch says: “By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes.”
